TSAI Product Update: News Digest Read the news for each stock
TSAI
Our News Digest feature saves investment managers time. It’s AI that reads the news for you – finding all the news trends, macro themes, and individual articles that impact the stocks you care about.
Single Stock News Digests Put the Whole World at Your Fingertips
When investment managers navigate to the news digest page for a specific stock, the first thing they see is a short summary outlining the major news that impacted the company. The digest highlights the major news about Tesla over the past month. At a glance, asset managers can get an overview of the top headlines, how those news items impacted the stock, when each piece of news occurred, and the total number of articles needed to generate the digest. In this case, we can see that there have been both positive and negative reports about Tesla over the past month that have caused the stock to move. Putting all of this information in the hands of investment managers instantly gives them the information they need to confidently speak about any stock in their portfolio (or any stock they might be considering adding or shorting).
Trusted Sources Give You Confidence and Transparency
Of course, before acting on any information, investment managers must understand where a news story is coming from. We collect data from over 70,000 news sources, combing through that data to ensure that trusted sources are given a higher value. Our News Sources section outlines which publications covered the stock the most, and how many articles from each source were used in the analysis. Users can quickly see if the news is coming from a reputable source. Regardless, our language model emphasizes news from top publications, and articles from less reputable sources are given much less weight when doing news summaries and analysis. Interestingly, this does not mean that asset managers will only see respected business news sources here – stories that impact Gap Inc. (GPS) or Target Corp (TGT) may come from Vogue, while stories that impact Madison Square Garden Sports Corp (MSGS) may come from trade publications. What is important here is that only influential news is shown, and that the sources are fully transparent, allowing our clients to trust the output.
News interest reflects the degree to which a news topic affects stock prices
The Stock News Interest Over Time chart provides users with an easy-to-read chart that shows them when major news occurred and how they affected stock prices. Tesla's stock price was negatively impacted by the stock performance issue article published on October 19. It also shows that a few weeks later, as more favorable articles about Tesla were published, including their Autopilot crash lawsuit victory and the November Cybertruck delivery announcement, the stock price rose. With this chart, users can quickly understand what caused the recent volatility in each stock’s price.
Top News Highlights All News Related to a Stock
For users who need a more detailed look at each trend impacting a stock, TSAI includes a “Top Stock News” table. Here, investment managers can view each trend, how that trend is expected to impact the stock, how many articles discuss that trend, when the last article about that trend was published, and how many articles came from top sources.
By selecting a trend from the table, users can continue their research and get an AI-generated summary of that trend and a list of articles (with links) that the model used in its analysis.
